After several years of unmaintained running of my DN42 Nodes, i decided to reload (re-install, re-design, re-implement) my DN42 nodes. Maybe afterwards not all will be up anymore or do some other jobs.
The new design will incorporate some technologies i want to learn more:
- BGP with EVPN/VXLAN
- RR within BGP EVPN
- ..
Therfore all my nodes are getting down in the next few days/weeks or already reinstalled with a fresh set of debian 12 and FRR. Yes, no more bird currently in the setup (which made me very sad, but the latest announcements of bird supporting EVPN may bring them back as RR)!
The first DN42 nodes which will come online within DN42 will be:
- dn42-au01.weiti.org
- dn42-de01.weiti.org
- dn42-jp01.weiti.org
- dn42-uk01.weiti.org
Some former known Nodes are moved to a new function (RouteReflector/RouteServer for my Nodes):
- dn42-rr01.weiti.org (dn42-gw)
- dn42-rr02.weiti.org (vpn01)
These two systems will not handle any external peerings, only RR/RS for internal route announcements. Maybe some informative services or container systems are running on these later on.
